Story Behind the Art:

Brazilian artist Jacira Baptista comes from a family of sculptors. 'My grandfather was a renowned artist and a professor at Recife's School of Fine Arts. When I was a little girl, I'd make mud sculptures at his studio. Years later, in the 1980s, I took a course and discovered the modern style--quite a leap from the academic style that distinguished my family's work. My work is very personal, for it comes from my emotional subconscious. I am predominantly an artist of what is feminine.'

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.
